FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Infrastructure and Drainage Assessment Plan As the major component of the Districts works program involves the maintenance, repair, or replacement of the Districts 500 + miles of agricultural drains and 700 + crossings. The District began compiling data (order of drain, # of acres, existing land use, drain containment, priority vs. benefit, as well as recommendations) on all the drains within the District. Once all the data is completed it will be compiled in easy to read and understand tables, that will help the Board in its decision making process as well as help prioritize and justify the works program. The 700 + crossing within the district were also assessed for structural soundness by an engineer. This, along with a map of municipal road priorities will help direct the board in the decision making process as it pertains to crossing replacements. Once all the data is compiled, this will be an essential tool in the day to day works of the District as well as helping to justify additional provincial dollars and current spending allocations.
