TRWCD SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Over the last 30 years, the TRWCD is proud to be able to share some of the
following accomplishments:
- the creation of a Geographic Information System (Watershed the System)
data base that enables the TRWCD to monitor, evaluate, and manage District
Programs
- the recipient of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association
(URISA) Exemplary systems in Government Honorary Mention for Watershed the
System
- recognition by the Province of Manitoba Sustainable Development
Innovations Fund for continued efforts towards the ongoing construction of
escarp mental erosion control structures (approximately 90 to date)

- the restoration of a creek back into its natural channel
- over 1300 acres of wildlife habitat through our Wildlife Incentive
Program
- over 2300 acres of wetland/ wildlife habitat purchased to be kept in its

- the maintenance of over 500 miles of agricultural drainage as well as
over 800 transportation crossings
- the establishment of over 1000 acres per year of forages on erosion
prone lands
- GIS systems brought to 5 local schools through a grant with the
Sustainable Development Innovations Fund
